Emirates Park Zoo and Resort in Abu Dhabi, the region’s one-of-its-kind resort zoo in the capital city, has been awarded prestigious global membership in the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) family. This membership places the zoo among nearly 400 leading institutions worldwide, forming a global community comprising zoos, aquariums, regional and national associations, and private corporations.

The distinguished Institution Member status of WAZA signifies the Emirates Zoo’s commitment to protect wildlife and impart specialised knowledge about the world of animals among the general public as the leading destination for wildlife enthusiasts. This recognition highlights the zoo’s unwavering commitment to conservation, animal welfare, and global cooperation within the esteemed WAZA community.

The WAZA membership marks a significant milestone for Emirates Park Zoo and Resort. This global recognition reaffirms the zoo’s outstanding efforts in conservation, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability, species-conservation management, and the highest standards in animal care. As an Institution Member of WAZA, the zoo gains access to a network of leading institutions, experts, and resources dedicated to global wildlife conservation.
